Outdoor Cooking — Weber Gas BBQ
The covered patio has a Weber BBQ ready for easy outdoor meals. Please enjoy it, but take a moment to follow these steps for safe use.
Lighting the BBQ
- Make sure the hood is open before lighting.
- Turn the gas bottle on by rotating the valve anticlockwise.
- Push in and turn the ignition knob to “Start” — you should hear gas flow.
- Press the ignition button to spark the burner. If it doesn’t light straight away, wait 30 seconds before trying again.
Cooking
- Preheat with the hood down for 5–10 minutes before cooking.
- Cook with the hood up for quick grilling, or down for roasting-style results.
- Use the heat control knobs to adjust as needed.
Shutting down
- Turn all burner knobs to the Off position.
- Turn off the gas at the bottle by closing the gas bottle valve by turning clockwise until tight. This is important.
- Leave the hood up until the BBQ has cooled.
Cleaning
- Brush the grills with the BBQ brush provided once the BBQ has cooled slightly (warm is easiest).
- Wipe down side shelves and close the hood when finished.
Safety notes
- Never light with the hood closed.
- Do not move the BBQ while it is lit or hot.
- Keep children and pets at a safe distance during use.
